IV Energy Security Dialogue between Angola and the United States

On June 13, the IV Energy Security Dialogue between Angola and the United States was held at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. The meeting aimed to discuss support for energy security regarding Angola’s energy production and access to electricity.

The Angolan delegation was led by Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, while the U.S. delegation was headed by Geoffrey Pyatt, Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources.

The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) concentrated on matters related to ensuring a reliable and stable energy supply and enhancing trade relations in this field.

During the meeting, João Baptista Borges from Angola and Geoffrey Pyatt from the United States primarily discussed issues related to the secure and stable supply of energy, deepening the commercial relationship between the two nations, and the overall topic of energy security.

Other attendees included José Barroso, the Angolan Secretary of State for Petroleum; the Chairmen of the Boards of Directors from PRODEL-EP, Pedro Afonso; RNT-EP, Rui Gourgel; ENDE, Helder Adão; and Sonangol, Sebastião Martins; as well as José Quarta, a representative from the IRSEA Board, and members of ANPG.
