Water provision projects evaluated in Luanda

The Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, accompanied by the Governor of Luanda Province, Manuel Homem, the Secretary of State for Energy, António Belsa da Costa, officials from the Ministry of Energy and Water, and members of the EPAL administration, among others, conducted a visit today, November 21, 2023, to various EPAL ventures in the capital city, Luanda.

The Phase III of the Candelabro Water Treatment Plant was thoroughly examined. It is worth noting that this infrastructure was built to increase water supply capacity and address shortages in some areas of Luanda city.

The visit also included the New Airport Water Distribution Center (Lot Q5), a project with a nominal reserve capacity of 40,000 cubic meters, benefiting approximately 789,943 inhabitants.

Another assessed infrastructure was the Bom Jesus Water Distribution Center (Lot Q8), a project part of the 5 Quilonga Grande system and currently in the initial construction phase, with approximately 5.72% of physical execution completed. It will have a reserve capacity of 30,000 cubic meters.

Lastly, to conclude the field trip, the Minister of Energy and Water, along with the Governor of Luanda, cut the ribbon to inaugurate the KK 5000 agency, which includes a service hall with five counters, an office, and a spacious waiting area.
